Tuba
As a Tuba player Simon has performed across the world with a range of different bands, orchestras and ensembles. He has performed with top professional orchestras such as The Halle and Manchester Camerata as well as some of the UK's leading brass bands including Foden’s, Williams Fairey Band and The BT Band. He has many commercial appearances recorded including working with Netflix, BBC, Channel 4 and Sony Ericcson.
Flat Cap Brass
In 2018, Simon founded the highly entertaining Flat Cap Brass, a high energy brass ensemble that quickly came to prominence. Under his direction the band has performed at major national events including: The Hazietera World Street Music Championships; Opening the Main Stage at Kendal Calling; broadcasting appearances on BBC and ITV; performing for a hit Netflix series; providing music for corporate events for leading international and UK brands. Currently the group perform 80-100 functions per calendar year.
Conductor
Simon currently works as a freelance conductor with a number of brass bands. Most recently, he served as the Musical Director of Slaithwaite Brass Band having previously been Musical Director of The Holme Valley Orchestra.
